Lace City Chorus at Nottinghamshire Pride
Lace City Chorus at Nottinghamshire Pride
On Saturday 29th July about 40 members of Lace City Chorus had the honour of performing to the crowds at Nottingham Pride. This was the first time the Chorus has performed at Pride and thoroughly enjoyed being part of this important and joyful event.
We sang a selection of songs from the repertoire, including a "Firework" medley, "One Day Like This" and finished with "This is Me" from the Greatest Showman with backing from onstage drummers. Some chorus members joined the march with friends, family or their employer; others enjoyed watching as the vibrant, loud and colourful march went past. It was the perfect day for it - the sun was shining, the crowds were amazing and the chorus were delighted to share in the joy of the occasion.
Music Director Ellie Blackeby said “It was one of the most incredible events we’ve ever sung at. It was great to celebrate our city’s diversity and be part of an event that enables people to be themselves on the streets of Nottingham.”
